6th Annual 48hrs of Tri-State
Benefit Run 2007

Route File .ANR  Delorem Map File.SAF

Vital Information:  T-Shirt Info!

When: Jan 11-14, 2007
Where: PA->NJ->NY->VT->NY
Who: Anyone who loves to drive
What: 800+ miles of roads, touring the entire Tri-state area.  This is a fun and friendly drive and bonding with other Subaru Enthusiasts throughout the Tri-state Area.  We've been doing this Annual run for 6 years straight and this year should prove to be no different.  Bring your friends, bring your relatives, bring your enthusiasm, and most importantly, BRING YOUR SENSE OF HUMOR!  Over the 3 days the group will cover back roads, traffic, and no doubt have some trying circumstances, but as a group we'll get through it all!

This year we will be mixing things up on several fronts.  Instead of starting and ending in NNJ, we will be starting on Thurs night in Philadelphia and having slow pace through NJ and the Pine Barrens during the day on Friday.  Folks who traditionally meet up with us Friday evening in NNJ will meet up with us either in Kenilworth, NJ or Woodbury Commons, NY.

Map Overview

Fund Raising:
We are going to be doing a Drive-a-Thon for Charity.  You get people to sponsor you $X per mile that will be donated to American Cancer Society. This year we will again be donating the money in the name of a nasioc.com member who recently passed on at an early 27 years old, his name is Ed Helbling. Sponsor Forms
HERE. So this not only will be a fun drive, but it will also raise money for a good cause.  Please try to get as many sponsors as you can.

Local Needs:

We will also need local people in each of the following cities to organize a meet as well.

Meet Cities:
Philadelphia, PA
Woodbury Commons, NY
Cooperstown, NY
Rutland, VT
Albany, NY
Newburg, NY

Lodging:

This year lodging is on your own, however, the places most folks are staying at are listed below
Thurs Jan 11:
Comfort Inn Downtown/Historic Area.
100 N. Chris. Columbus Blvd., Philadelphia, PA, US, 19106

Friday Jan 12:
We will be staying at http://www.cooperstownbandb.com/  This is Bruce's parent's place and we'll be doing a group booking for Friday night.  I'm waiting to hear how many people we can jam in there to see if we need to get any additional hotels. BRING SLEEPING BAGS as we may need to double up etc here.  If you prefer to be in a more private setting feel free to book the following hotel...

The other good option in Cooperstown is the Lakefront Motel. If privacy is a must for you, the bnb might be crowded, and that way you'd guarantee youself a private bed. It's only about 2 blocks from the bars on Main Street (about the same as the bnb).
Rooms start at $65 per night. http://www.lakefrontmotelandrestaurant.com/

Items to Bring with you!
Full Size Spare tire, properly inflated (check PSI)
CB, even "borrow" a hand held one from Radio Shack for the weekend. This is essential, without it the trip will have less of a meaning for yah.
Co-driver/Co-pilot  It's going to be a long drive, if you can bring a co-pilot or a co-driver that would be great.
Sleeping Bag.  May need it @ Motels if we pack in a bunch of people.  Also it's a good idea whenever doing winter driving to have one in case you are stuck on the side of the road overnight.
EZ PASS-  This is essential, last year we got fouled up a few times going through toll booths.
Any equipment you may need that you can't fit in your own vehicle for the trip can be loaded into the Armada as it will be doing support vehicle role again this year.

Other Info:

This year's trip will be a blast as always.  We've shortened it slightly to give us a more leisurely pace and more back roads than highways and able to spend more time in each city we visit.  Other years due to snow and other items that pop up we were constantly battling the clock, this schedule allows for more sleep and more fun!

E-mail me with any and all questions and I'll gladly answer them for yah
